Jim Beviglia has been a gambling writer at LegitGamblingSites.com since 2018. During that time, he’s written just about every type of article related to gambling, including reviews of betting sites, guides to popular casino games, betting tips on both casino and sports betting, sports and casino blog posts, and game picks.
LegitGamblingSites.com is just one of the many gambling sites for which Jim has written. He’s also contributed in recent years to GamblingSites.org, GamblingSites.net, The Sports Geek, and several others. Although he’s well-versed in all aspects of the gambling world, he especially loves writing on video poker on the casino side and NBA basketball, NFL football, and horse racing on the sports side.
Jim’s interest in sports began as a youngster, as he fell in love with the Minnesota Vikings and New Jersey (now Brooklyn) Nets, still his favorite franchises. He thought he wanted to be a play-by-play announcer for the sports he loved, which is why he majored in broadcast journalism at Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Communications. Indeed, announcing has been a major part of his career. He called high school basketball and football games out of college and has held down a long-standing gig as the race caller at a local horse racing establishment.
In addition to online gambling, one of Jim’s other major interests is music. He has been doing freelance work for various music sites and magazines for two decades. Among his outlets past and present are American Songwriter, VinylMePlease, Treble, and The Bluegrass Situation. Jim has also written five books on music that were published by Rowman & Littlefield. Throughout his music-writing career, Jim has been lucky enough to interview hundreds of artists, from established superstars to young up-and-comers.
Jim loves his gambling writing because it takes him back to when he was a kid. His Dad worked as a teller at a local race track and would show him how to handicap the races and pick winners. And he loved listening to his uncles talk about the lines for college and NFL football each weekend, debating who the best bets were. In those days, the only outlets they had to bet was the local bookmaker. But now that sports and casino betting can be done online by just about anyone, Jim loves sharing his knowledge with people learning the gambling ropes.
Jim lives with his wife, daughter, two dogs, and two cats in Pennsylvania in the same house where he was born. As you read this, he’s probably sitting at a laptop with his headphones on to a playlist, checking the lines for the best value bets.
