The 4 Best Ways to Get Kicked Out of a Vegas Casino
While it should be obvious, I feel that I may need to make clear the purpose of this article. The purpose of this article is NOT to teach you cool ways to get kicked out of a Vegas casino on your next trip to Sin City. What I am trying to accomplish is to teach you the simple things that you should and should not do to make sure that you don’t find yourself tossed to the curb and your trip ruined.
It should be as simple as saying to be respectful and act like an adult. Unfortunately, I can tell you from witnessing it way too many times that the advice needs to be a lot more direct and specific. I’ve seen probably hundreds if not thousands of people kicked out of Vegas casinos throughout my years visiting and living in this city.
When you get kicked out of a casino, it’s sometimes not as easy as just walking next door. What if you’re kicked out of the casino you’re staying at? Or did you know that a lot of the casinos on the strip are owned by the same company, and a ban from one counts as a ban at all of them? Not to mention that getting kicked out is going to be embarrassing for you and for your friends who may or may not decide to leave with you.
Thankfully, we are all going to be good little boys and girls by listening to the tips and advice in this blog. We’re going to be the ones laughing at other people getting kicked out while we continue to enjoy our awesome trip inside of any casino or hotel that we want to be in.
Overload on the Sauce
There is a clear winner when it comes to the best ways to get kicked out of a Vegas casino. In fact, it’s not even close. The number one reason I’ve seen people get the boot is that they drank too much. Alcohol has removed more people from Vegas casinos than any other person, place, or thing on the planet.
Sure, you can have some fun and have some drinks, but the second it goes too far you’re going to be removed. What counts as going too far? Well, the most common is people falling asleep inside the casino. If you’re a peaceful drunk who just goes night night after you’ve had too many, you’re going to be kicked out of the casino. The good news is that if you go quietly, you most likely won’t be banned or anything like that. They’ll just ask you to go to your room or leave the casino.
If you don’t wake up though or refuse to move, they’re going to call the police or the paramedics, and it’s going to turn into a big ordeal that still results in you getting kicked out of the casino.
The second way I’ve seen alcohol get people get kicked out is when they get sloppy. When you can’t walk straight, start knocking things over, or start spilling drinks on other people, tables, or property, you’re going to be asked to leave.
Again, if you are respectful about it and go quietly, they aren’t going to ban you or even ask you to leave if you are staying at the hotel. But, if you argue or don’t immediately leave, you’re going to end up in a lot worse situation.
You’ll probably find yourself banned from the property or even asked to leave your room if you’re staying there. There is nothing like getting kicked out of your room drunk at 12 o’clock at night. Not fun, but I’ve seen it happen many a times before.
Lastly, if the booze gets you violent or aggressive even the slightest bit, you will find yourself on the curb or in handcuffs so fast it will make your head spin. If this is you, don’t let yourself get drunk while you’re in Vegas. People seem to think they are invincible in Sin City, but I assure you with 100% confidence that is not the case. Clark County Detention Center would be happy to house you.
Remember, you are not invincible. Just this past year, OJ Simpson found himself getting kicked out of the Cosmopolitan Hotel for being too drunk. If the famous “Juice” isn’t immune to these rules and regulations, I don’t know what might make you think that you are.
Disrespect Anyone Who Works There
For some reason, people get the fact that Vegas is a service city confused with the thought that they own everyone that works there. The people that work in the Vegas casinos are real people who you have to treat with respect. Just because you are on your special trip away from home does not mean that general human decency goes out the window.
If you disrespect any casino employee in any way, shape, or form, you are going to be kicked out immediately without any opportunity to make your case. The casino will 100% always side with their employee in these situations. Unless it’s blatantly clear that you were wronged, you’re going to be asked to leave, and sometimes this is without any sort of warning.
If you get upset that you lost gambling or something else went wrong with your trip, don’t take it out on the staff. If you do need to voice a concern, follow the appropriate channels and do it respectfully. If you don’t get what you want, accept it and move on. For things that you don’t want to drop, arguing with the staff there will get nothing done. Escalate things to a higher up appropriate channel via phone or email at a later time.
Additionally, you need to be careful not to disrespect other patrons. If you are pissing off other customers that are gambling at the casino, you will be gone in a heartbeat. The casino makes most of its money off of gambling, and they will do anything they have to in order to protect their players. Heaven forbid you do something to disrespect a high roller. If you do that, you will never be allowed back in that casino again without question.
Try Too Hard to Beat the Casino
I am not referring to gambling your little heart out and trying to beat the casino. What I am referring to is cheating or trying to pull a fast one of any sort on the casino. You may have seen the movies where when people get caught cheating they get scuffed up a little bit and then get thrown out into the street. You might even be thinking that this sort of punishment is worth the risk.
Here’s a newsflash. They don’t take people in the backroom anymore if they catch them cheating. They restrain you, put you in handcuffs, and have the police escort you out of the casino through the main lobby for everyone to see. Then they take you down to the jail and charge you with a felony. Vegas likes to make an example out of cheaters to deter anyone else from giving it a try in the future.
If you think that you’re invincible to this, you are not. They don’t care where you come from, what color you are, what you do for a living back home, or how great of a person you are. Try and steal from the casino and you will find yourself behind bars.
Additionally, if you do anything that might not be explicitly illegal to try and get one over on the casino, you will get kicked out and banned. Yes, this does include card counting. If you’ve read a bunch of books and blogs to learn how to count and you’re ready to give it a go, don’t. The casino security staff and pit bosses are masters at catching people much more sophisticated at it than you. They will catch you. They will embarrass you. They will throw you out and ban you for life.
There is nothing wrong with trying to win, but you need to do it within the confines of the rules and laws. Casinos reserve the right to refuse service to anyone, and they have absolutely no problems with taking that liberty as often as they’d like. Remember as well, Vegas thrives on being a tourist town run by the casinos. I can guarantee you that the police are going to be more inclined to take the word of the casino staff over yours especially if you’ve had a few to drink.
Drugs are NOT Legal in Las Vegas
As marijuana laws change across the country, it is becoming much more mainstream and accepted in certain places. You may have even read that recently Las Vegas made recreational marijuana legal. Here’s what you may have missed in that story, though. Recreational marijuana is legal in private residences in Las Vegas. This means that you can smoke in someone’s home but not on the strip, not in the casino, and definitely not in the hotel room.
If you’re caught, you might be arrested, but you most certainly will be kicked off the property and banned for an extended period of time. Don’t take the risk and jeopardize your entire trip. Additionally, all other drugs are not legal in Las Vegas. You’ve probably seen a ton of movies with people partying like crazy and taking every drug under the sun.
This is Hollywood. If you get caught doing that here, you are going to be arrested. You see, Vegas wants you to have an amazing time and they count on you having a great time to keep the tourism flowing. However, they need you to be safe as well, and they view all other drugs as unsafe and harmful to your safety. With drugs come drug dealers and problems. Not only that, people get wheeled out of clubs from overdosing on party drugs every single day and night in Las Vegas.
For this reason, they do not look the other way. You may have been told that they do, but again, I can assure you this is false information. If you’re into doing other drugs for fun, I highly recommend not doing them in Vegas because you may find yourself behind bars.
The Takeaway
Let’s recap to make sure that everyone is on the same page. When you come to Vegas, you are not going to do the following things:
- You will not get too drunk that you lose control.
- You will not disrespect any of the hotel or casino staff (or other patrons).
- You will not try to cheat the casino.
- You will not take recreational drugs.
Yes, no one likes rules, but these rules are not meant to make you have less fun. They are meant to protect you and your fun. You can’t enjoy Vegas if you’re in jail or kicked out of every casino on the strip. Be an adult, follow the laws, and treat everyone with respect. It really is that simple.
If you can’t abide by these simple rules, then maybe a land casino isn’t for you. You might be better off gambling at the top online casinos recommended on our site.
